The new Moto X will be going official this week, but we’re all still thirsty for information regarding the device. One thing we’ve thought was almost certain since the leak train started rolling in early April was the name: in one of the first leaks of the phone, the name “Moto X+1″ was dropped, and in subsequent leaks it came up over and over again. Today, though, we’re hearing new information, as the name may not be Moto X+1 at all.
According to sources of Phandroid at Verizon, the company’s internal computer system shows the device simply as “The new Moto X.” This isn’t all that surprising, but it’s still different than what we were all expecting to see. This name, according to the source, is also being referenced on accessories and other products concerning the phone, so it’s looking quite likely. Keep in mind though, that the name “Moto X+1″ has some solid evidence pointing to that name as well, so either way, we’re not quite sure.
Also mentioned through this leak is some information about Moto Maker. It looks like the device customization service will be available on Verizon right from the get-go, which is refreshing to know as AT&T had quite a lengthy exclusive on the service last year with the Moto X.
Our own Adam Doud will be live at the event to bring us information straight from the horse’s mouth, and we have a lengthy rumor roundup piece for the new Moto X scheduled to go live tomorrow – so be sure to check back with us for those.
