Copper Sony Xperia Z3, SmartBand Talk leaked in press images

The Sony event at the Berlin IFA 2014 is just hours away, and the leaks keep on coming, trying to anticipate even more of what we’ll probably see. Yesterday we’ve seen an alleged picture of the Sony Xperia Z3, with a spec-sheet glued to its back; that piece of paper, among specs, also mentioned a copper flavor, alongside black and white, and it’s that exact new variant seems to have leaked today, in the images above and below.

There’s little to see here, aside from the new copper Sony Xperia Z3, but the image below also seems to feature a fourth color; call it yellow, green, or lime, it looks to be something we’ve not seen before, for a nice line-up of colored Xperia Z3 devices.

Additionally, the press shot leaked also unveils a new wearable accessory pictured below. It appears to feature a curved e-ink display, and the report claims that we’re likely looking at the “SmartBand Talk”. It will all become official later today, and we encourage you to keep checking back for our full hands-on and comparison coverage from Berlin.

HTC One M8 for Windows Phone featured in leaked Verizon poster

Tomorrow is August 19, which means that HTC’s next press event is nearly upon us. While the company hasn’t out and confirmed what it will be announcing, nor does the event invitation itself hint at the product to expect, a number of signs have been pointing to the company revealing a Windows Phone-running version of its Android One M8. The latest bit of circumstantial evidence turns up at this late hour, with the release of an image showing off some in-store Verizon promotional material for a WP8 One M8.

We spot a couple things of interest here. First is that name, and there’s no HTC One W8 or even big formal “HTC One M8 for Windows Phone;” instead, we just have the One M8, with the almost parenthetical aside “available now on Android or Windows.” Considering the over-the-top branding we’ve seen in the past (Windows Phone 8X by HTC), that’s a refreshing change of pace.

We also finally get to see a render of this phone without the weird misaligned bottom speaker grille. That initially appeared in that first render spotted on Verizon’s servers, and had continued to appear in more recent imagery. Finally, this returns us to a WP8 One M8 that matches the Android One M8′s hardware.

Check back with us tomorrow morning for full coverage of HTC’s announcement, when hopefully we get some confirmation of these launch plans, and find out if we’re really looking at a Verizon exclusive.

Alleged user manual for LG G3 S leaked

It seems the new cool thing for OEMs to do is release a “mini” version of their flagship phones a couple months after the initial release. LG doesn’t look to be bucking the trend, as a German LG G3 S user manual has leaked, allegedly showing off a “mini” G3.

This supposed G3 S has model number D722V, meaning this is a Vodafone phone. It runs a custom build of Android 4.4.x KitKat, meaning LG has sprinkled its own software goodies atop AOSP — it looks like some features, like the ability to take selfies with gestures, have been carried over.

Apart from all that, nothing else has come about from this leaked user manual. Speculation and rumors have currently pegged the specs of the phone; it will supposedly have a 5-inch 720p display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of ROM, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC, along with an 8MP rear shooter.

Though this LG G3 S user manual curiously doesn’t tell us much, the rumors are piling up and it looks like the device is certainly in the pipeline. The phone will allegedly be released globally, with a special “G3 Beat” moniker for Chinese markets. We’ll bring you any official details as we learn of them.

Nexus 8 (Nexus 9/Flounder/Volantis) gets leaked on a shipping manifest

htc volantis

Last time we spotted a leak of a new Nexus tablet we were quite shocked, considering it said that the tablet will sport 5GB of RAM along with some other pretty nice specs. Even the source of that leak is usually spot on. This device keeps on leaking.

This time it leaked on a shipping database in India (image down below). It showed a listing for two “NEXUS8 PROTOTYPE TABLET SIMILAR TO NEXUS(7)” which landed in India about a week ago via Bangalore Air Cargo. The value listed for each of those was INR$ 16,484, which is approximately $ 275. This is probably not the retail price though, but we’re not sure. This might be the best evidence this thing exists thus far.

This time around we don’t get any specifications or anything of the sort. As far as we know @evleaks’ information might be spot on.
